Amarnath Yatra 2013 Dates Announced, 55 Day Yatra from June 28

In a high level meeting held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Governor Shri N.N Vohra, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board had announced the Dates for Amarnath Yatra 2013. The 2 Month Long yatra will be commencing from 28th June and will conclude on 21st August on the Day of Raksha Bandhan.

Apart from announcing the yatra duration and schedule, several other decisions were taken with regard to 2013 yatra. In this post, we are going to share all the important point that were discussed in the meeting

15 Amarnath Yatris Killed in a Tragic Road Accident near Ramban

In a Tragic road Accident, 15 Amarnath pilgrims were Killed and 18 Injured when a bus in which they are traveling skidded off the road and fell in the gorge near Ramban on the Jammu Kashmir National Highway. The bus was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu , when it suddenly skidded off the road and fell into the  gorge at Digdol in Ramban.The targic accident takes place in the Late Night Hours around 11:30 PM on Saturday night.

As per the Information shared by SP Ramban Anil Mangotra with PTI, 10 pilgrims died on the spot and the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban. The rescue work completed on Sunday Morning with the recovery of 14 Bodies.One of the injured died in the GMC, Jammu, there by taking the toll to 15.Some of the seriously injured persons have been referred to GMC Jammu to better treatment

Amarnath Yatra 2012 was flagged off on 24th June, 2012 from Jammu amid tight security.With in 5 days, approximately 1 Lakh people had performed the Darshan of Shir Amarnath Ji.Every years close to 5 lakh people pay Obsience at the Holy cave that is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft) above sea level.It is practically not possible for every one to reach the place due to difficult conditions Like High Terrain, Unexpected Weather, less Oxygen etc.

In 2011, 107 people lost their lives while performing the Amarnath Yatra.This is the reason as to why the Shrine Board had made it compulsory for each and every yatris to carry a Medical Certificate issued by Registered Medical Practitioner (RPM).

For the Convenience of Devotees and those who did not get a Chance to perform the the Amarnath Yatra in 2012 due to Health Reasons or some other reason we are posting some of the Exclusive Photos of Amarnath Yatra 2012.In other words, we call also call it Amarnath Photo Darshan.
